Provision of data transmission for railway communication (GSM-R)

Banedanmark

Regionstog A/S has decided to replace the radios on all its trains to radios of the GSM-R (Global System Mobile - Railway) standard. Regionstog A/S is a private company operating four branch lines on Zealand and servicing more than 3.2 million passengers annually. Banedanmark is - on behalf of Regionstog A/S - planning to contract for the provision of data transmission on the GSM-R net. The contract will not comprise the erection of masts,
antennas, base stations etc. but will comprise the necessary implementation, operation and support of the transmission between the GSM-R sites (along the railway track) and the GSM-R core (situated in Copenhagen) and the transmission between dispatcher workplaces and the GSM-R core.
