Naviair

Naviairs current aviation liability insurance expires 30.9.2011. Therefore Naviair is initiating a tender process in order to get quotations from suitably qualified and experienced insurance companies, who can provide aviation liability insurance coverage for Naviair with effect from October, 1 2011. The insurance cover required is protection against Naviairs legal liability arising from the carrying out management activities, and from the ownership, maintenance, use or provison of premises, territory, services and facilities necessary to all functions related to air traffic control and navigational services including ground traffic control. With the assistance of the insurance consultant Marsh Naviair has appointed the Leading Insurer, and in the present tender the selcted lead quotation, including price and participation (%), will be released to interested parties (other insurers) in order to build support behind the appointed Leading Insurer up to 100 %.

Provision of air navigation services is Naviair’s first and foremost priority, i.e. to provide its services in an efficient and expeditious way, guiding aircraft safely through Danish airspace with minimum delays. Naviair offers training of all operative staff at its own college - of which that of Air Traffic Controllers constitutes the primary part - and operates and maintains the advanced technical systems and air navigation aids. The initial training takes place at Entry Point North, the joint Scandinavian Academy i Malmö. Naviair has a staff of approximately 660 persons most of which are Air Traffic Controllers and technical staff, and runs a business of approximately 900 000 000 DKK a year.

The applicants that intend to form or participate in a consortium should clearly state the share of their participation together with the tasks and funtions to be undertaken by each one ot them. Each applicant is not allowed to partipate in the tender more than once (either individually, or in parallel through an affiliate or subsidiary company, or in parallel as a member of more consortia than one). Applicants through an insurance agent will not be accepted. In addition to the above the following are also required: Declaration of compliance with EU Council Directive 2004/18/EC (Article 45).

Proof must be provided by the applicants of ther financial performance: Rating from credit rating agents (Standard & Poor's, Moody's or by other equivalent credit rating agent).

Should a group of Underwriters/Syndicates decide to quote on a co-assurance basis, the Underwriters/Syndicates participating in the co-assurance must appoint a Lead Underwriter/Syndicate who represents and acts on the participating co-insurers' behalf. Lead Underwriter/Syndicate must be appointed to handle and settle all claims on the other co-insurers' behalf. The co-insurers must accept Lead Underwriter's/Syndicate's decision regarding indemnity payments.
