The equipment to be purchased will be used to perform in vivo electrophysiological recordings of the rodent's brain (both mice and rats) for basic research use. The laboratory that is purchasing it has a background on in vitro electrophysiology and in behavioural techniques, and for these reasons the in vivo electrophysiological recording system will provide a bridge to link these techniques and bind the results together.
