NGVL and ENDK (the ‘Employers’) are jointly developing an HVDC interconnector between the United Kingdom and Denmark (the ‘Interconnector’). This notice concerns the award of one or more contracts for the detailed design, engineering, procurement, manufacture, installation, construction, testing, commissioning, spares provision, operational handover and maintenance of an interconnector between the UK and Denmark.
The procurement is structured in 7 lots consisting of:
1. lot 1 — HVDC MIND Cables underground UK.
2. lot 2 — HVDC MIND Cables submarine UK.

The Contract also includes a warranty and maintenance period of a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 10 years.

The HVDC cable technology is 525kV MIND and Tenderers must note that the cable system (cables and accessories, including factory joints and Transition Joints) proposed in their design must have been type tested in accordance with Cigre Electra 189 and 171 before the award of the contract.

Any Tenderer who submits a compliant tender for Lot 1 or Lot 5 must also submit individual compliant tenders for both Lots 1 and 5. Any Tenderer who submits compliant tenders for Lots 2-4 must submit individual compliant tenders for Lots 1-5. Any Tenderer who submits a compliant tender for Lot 6 must also submit compliant tenders for Lots 1-5. The following contractual security may be required from contractors:

— Parent company guarantees from the ultimate parent company or equivalent third party security;

— Performance and warranty bonds in the sum of up to 15 % of the relevant contract price, reducing to 10 % of the contract price on taking over;

— Advance payment bonds if the Employers agree to an advance payment;

in each case as more fully described in the Tender Documents.

The Viking Project is subject:

— to regulation under the Ofgem Cap and Floor regime and therefore the project costs and payment provisions may be subject to regulatory oversight;

The Employers will be severally liable for the costs of Project on a 50:50 basis.

Contracts will be structured on an engineer, procure and construct (‘EPC’) basis, will be subject to English law, and will contain performance guarantees. Completion and full commissioning of the Interconnector needs to scheduled to be completed by December 2022. Full details of the contract performance conditions are described in Tender Documents.

Two HVDC cable poles over a total route length of approximately 76 km, forming part of a connection between 2 HVDC converters (UK and DK) and capable of delivering 1 400 MW at the receiving end. The contract also includes a defects period of a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 10 years.The HVDC cable technology is 525 kV MIND.

— design, delivery, installation and commissioning of all electrical equipment for the 1 400 MW @ +/- 525 kVBipol VSC converter stations in DK and UK — from connection to AC substation to the DC cable termination,

— commissioning and testing of the interconnector,

— HVAC cable in the UK.
