Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Danida

Copenhagen has been selected as the host-city for the next international Women Deliver International Conference, which will take place the 17-19.5.2016. The Women Deliver's conferences are the world's largest global meetings to focus on the health, rights and wellbeing of girls and women. The 2016 Conference is expected to bring together world leaders, advocates, policy-makers, journalists, young people, researchers and leaders of the private sector and civil society to showcase what it means and how it works when women and girls become the focus of development efforts. The Copenhagen Women Deliver Conference will also be the first large global opportunity to discuss the implementation of the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals in a global forum and what the new sustainable development agenda means for girls and women and the world. The conference is expected to gather 5 000 speakers and participants from across the globe who will engage in a wide range of activities including plenaries, side-events, exhibitions etc.
The fact that Denmark will be hosting the 2016 conference offers unique opportunities for increased focus on women's health and rights both with respect to the experiences and achievements that have occurred in Denmark as well as on how Denmark through its development cooperation, which has support to gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights as key objectives, has contributed to strengthening outcomes for women and girls at the global level.
Danish actors ranging from civil society organisations dealing specifically with the issue of development cooperation and/or gender equality, youth organisations, professional organisations, cultural institutions and others have shown great interest in being involved in activities related to the conference. The contract will be for an initial period of 12 months with the option of an additional phase of 4 calendar months for follow up. The contract holder will be responsible for setting up and running the national coordinating entity in an efficient manner. This will among other things include developing the procedures for the entity in close consultation with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The contract does not include funds to be distributed for different activities. Consequently, applicants for pre-qualification can themselves be implementing activities relevant for the Women Deliver Conference without being considered to have a potential conflict of interest.
The applicant should have relevant experience including a solid knowledge of Danish development cooperation and the key theme of the conference: Gender equality, women's rights and sexual and reproductive health and rights. In addition the applicant should have experience with outreach and communication.
