The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) has a network consisting of five C-band weather radars providing full coverage over Denmark. With the intention of modernizing the Danish weather radar network, DMI now wishes to procure three new C-band doppler weather radars with dual polarization capabilities. The purchase of the three radars shall be organized as a contract on purchase of the first radar with options on radar number two and radar number three, so that after the site acceptance test of the first radar of this contract is passed DMI will order the options on radar number two and radar number three. The new radars will replace existing radars in the DMI network, leaving the number of operational weather radars in the resulting DMI network unchanged at five. The integration of the new weather radars into the DMI network shall be seamless both from an operation and maintenance point of view and at the product level. The weather radar system procurement of ‘radar number one' consists of: 1. A C-band, dual pol., doppler weather radar system for modernization of DMI weather radar station 06036 Sindal (EKSN). 2. A radome for the radar system. 3. A platform solution for the radar system, using the existing platform or offering a new platform. 4. Delivery on site. 5. Installation and Commissioning of the above on site. 6. Training program for the DMI engineers and scientists. The weather radar system shall be self-consistent including radar control server and software, transmitter/receiver, waveguides, pedestal, antenna etc. The system should have the possibility of remote control, remote monitoring and remote calibration. All equipment shall be physically accommodated in existing facilities and on the existing tower. The delivered solution shall be safe. DMI will make the site ready for the procurement installation, e.g. remove redundant/superseded equipment beforehand.

1) A weather radar system procurement ‘radar number two', similar to the above, for modernization of DMI weather radar station 06096 Rømø (EKXR).
2) A weather radar system procurement ‘radar number three', similar to the above, for modernization of DMI radar station 06177 Stevns (EKXS), except that the installation might be established on a new site, instead of the existing one. The latter is conditional on DMI's success in securing a more suitable site for a relocation of the Stevns radar before the acceptance date of the weather radar system procurement of ‘radar number one'.
2) A weather radar system procurement ‘radar number three', similar to the above, for modernization of DMI radar station 06177 Stevns (EKXS), except that the installation might be established on a new site, instead of the existing one. The latter is conditional on DMI's success in securing a more suitable site for a relocation of the Stevns radar before the acceptance date of the weather radar system procurement of ‘radar number one'.
