1. Introduction
Energinet.dk is an independent, public enterprise under the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building. Energinet.dk owns and runs 924 km gas transmission pipelines. A new compressor station in Egtved was constructed in 2011-2013.
The compressor station consists of four separate electrically driven compressor units of identical dimensions. Each compressor unit has a filter, followed by a compressor and a gas cooler.
2. Scope of work
In connection with capacity expansion of Compressor Station Egtved, noise limits have been defined and the facility shall comply with relevant requirements and legislation defined by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (Miljøstyrelsen). Sound intensity measurements has been performed and in order to reduce the internal (on site working environment) noise level around the compressor units a smaller part of the discharge and inlet pipes have already been insulated (Armasound with metal cladding).
In order to reduce the general noise level further and comply with the relevant requirements it has been decided to insulate the piping on the Gas coolers, the Inlet filters, and the inlet and outlet. All the items must be treated with noise reducing insulation with Zinc-aluminium cladding.
