Through purchase under a Framework Agreement, the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) is planning to acquire military precision rifle (RIFLE). The RIFLE is intended for use by the Danish Special Operation Forces and marksmen in the Danish Army, with the intention of further use by the Danish Engineering Regiment. The Danish Defence demands a RIFLE, with effective range primarily from 500 m - 2 000 m, which can be used in all conditions — including general climate requirements and maritime deployment environments. Furthermore the RIFLE is intended to be carried over long distances by the shooter — hereunder mountainous terrain, desert, urban and jungle. The latter requires good ergonomics, good weight balance and low weight. The RIFLE is intended for combat use and shall be able to function in a wide range of, and against, different target types — from personnel to lightly-armoured vehicles, signalling systems to helicopters, planes and more. The RIFLE shall be usable by helicopter (doorway). The RIFLE shall be able to operate in the Force Protection role, this demands for a high degree of precision, thus maximum fire-power can be achieved with a minimum of rounds, and thereby minimizing collateral damage. The RIFLE shall, due to the often independent deployment types, be easy to disassemble, transport and maintain by the shooter. The motivation for this acquisition is to acquire a light and well balanced RIFLE which: — has a high accuracy out till 2 000 meters — has good ergonomics, high development potential and good balance — can operate in the mentioned scenarios at distances out to 2 000 m and is able to deliver quickly, accurate and concentrated fire-power to the target — has the opportunity to obtain a high follow-up on the target. The RIFLE shall be one-man operated with low weight, good balance and with high precision for distances out to 2 000 meters. The RIFLE shall be delivered as a system containing as a minimum, the RIFLE with: — Magazine and spare — Rails — Bipod — Muzzle brake — Approved suppressor for the RIFLE — Mount for scope — Adjustable/folding stock with accessories, preferable with monopod — 2 slings for carrying and transport (including a biathlon type sling) — Hard case with padlock, which should be approved for air transportation — Carrying bag, drag bag or equivalent The RIFLE and accessories shall be delivered in TAN 499, multi-cam or equivalent. The weapon shall be designed to allow mounting of standard equipment for a combat soldier, e.g. sights and sensors, using NATO Accessory Rails, STANAG 4694 or equivalent. For testing purpose a minimum of 2 Long Range Precision Rifles, accessories and technical support shall be available at DALO premsies, expected to be within the period of April to July 2015.
