The call for tenders comprises insurance services (Material Damage Insurance) related to the ownership and operation and maintenance of the Copenhagen Metro Phases 1, 2 and 3. The insurance period shall be from 1.1.2015 until 31.12.2017.
Copenhagen Metro Phase 1, 2 and 3 comprises line M1 and M2, both with Vanløse as one end station and Vestamager respectively Copenhagen Airport as the other end station. M1 have 15 stations and M2 16 stations. 9 stations are common for both M1 and M2 resulting in a total of 22 stations. 13 of the stations are above ground stations and 9 underground stations of which the 6 are common for M1 and M2. A total of 34 sets of trains are serving the lines. Each set of trains consists of 3 carriages coupled together. A train set is 39 meter long, 2,65 meter width and have a capacity of 300 passengers.

The present contract notice starts a pre-qualification phase. Applicants for pre-qualification fulfilling the minimum requirement, cf. section III.2.2. will be asked to submit a tender. It is possible that the insurance contract may exceed the applicant's own capacity. Therefore the contracting authority intends to control the placement of all facultative (re)insurance for these lines of insurance and the successful bidder(s) will be asked to lead these insurances within their own capacity setting the rates and terms and conditions and providing the insurance services.

Minimum requirement: Standard and Poor's or A M Best security rating of A- or higher is required. The request for pre-qualification (request to participate in the tender process) must contain a declaration from the applicant that the applicant has a Standard and Poor's or A M Best security rating of at least A-. On receipt of the applicant's request for pre-qualification, the security rating of the applicant will be checked by the contracting authority on the Standard and Poor's or A M Best website to ensure compliance with the minimum requirement.
