The aim is to implement eight playout systems at 8 independent TV stations, but with possible interconnection to make sharing of media across the different systems easy.
The playout systems must be able to playback different SD and HD media formats, and to insert a number of static and dynamic graphics simultaneously. Because of the limited budget, it is expected that the playout system will be based on a channel in a box solution.
The systems offered must be based on the latest, but well proven technology and include a high level of redundancy. The playout systems should have tight integration with the TV 2 regions' program planning system (WHAT'S On/MediaGenix).
This tender includes system design of eight playout systems including delivery of equipment, system integration to existing program planning and production facilities and installation and training at the individual regional TV2 stations as stated above.
As stated above, the supply will be tendered in eight independent lots - one for each of the 8 regional TV 2 stations.
Consequently, this tender procedure will result in individual and legally binding agreements being executed with each individual TV 2 station regarding the supply of TV program server playout system.
As options, the regional TV 2 stations invite tenders for:
— Expanding the amount of storage,
— Use of existing high performance storage,
— One extra SD/HD channel,
— Less redundant playout,
— One SD/HD ingest function,
— Router control,
— KVM switch,
— 24/7/365 hotline service.
The budget for the playout system available to the TV 2 regions is limited, and focus will therefore be on the price tendered. Each of the eight core playout systems without options is expected to range between EUR 50 000 and 150 000. These figures do not reflect, however, fixed limits.
