Tenant/User Adviser - UN City
In January 2009, the detailed planning of common premises for all UN Agencies in Copenhagen, better known as a “UN City” commenced. The development is based on a partnership between the Government of Denmark and CPH City & Port Development.
UN City comprises two campuses. Campus 1 – part 1 contains the largest office component (approximately 28 000 m2) whilst Campus 2 is primarily UNICEF’s warehouse facility. Construction has begun on Campus 1 part 1 and on the warehouse. The construction of a part 2 of campus 1 (approximately 17 000 m2) has been approved by the Minister for Development Cooperation.
The Consultant’s overarching role is to advice the client on all technical aspects, engineering as well as architectural, in relation to completion of the UN City Campus 1, including its part 2, thereby safeguarding the interests of the client in this respect.
The design phases for both campuses, including Campus 1, part 2 has been completed. Consequently, the main task of the consultant is to follow the physical construction, advising the tenant and the user on all aspects of the construction process requiring supplementary tenant inputs, or issues of conflicting interpretations of the Tenancy brief or other project documents. In carrying out this task, the consultant will keep close contact with the developer, the construction company, and, in close cooperation with the UN Project Director, all relevant actors within the UN agencies. The consultant will give briefings and guidance to the meetings of the UN City Planning Committee, meeting every second week, and the consultant shall be prepared to participate and guide the work of technical subcommittees meeting whenever required.
The Consultant has design and design integration responsibility for all tenant deliverables to the project (both architectural and engineering related), as well as being the client’s independent representative and adviser. In carrying out his tasks the consultant will report regularly and as required to the UN Project Director, who has authority to take decisions in all matter of the construction, or who will serve as vehicle for bringing up matters of principle or having major financial implications before the tenant, the Steering Committee or the UN heads of agencies, as appropriate.
The Consultant's key staff must be able to use Danish and English as working language.
