Fund management of the business advocacy fund, business sector programme support, phase II, Kenya

The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Danida is seeking to engage the services of a fund manager to head and run the second round of support to business advocacy in Kenya. The manager will head and run the Business Advocacy Fund (BAF) as part of the second phase of the Business Sector Programme Support (BSPS II) in Kenya, from April 2011 to end December 2015. The Business Advocacy Fund was established in 2006 and in BSPS II will provide grants for advocacy, training and technical support to business organizations and – associations, trade and labour unions and business media. The aim of the provided support is to enable the applicants to advocate more effectively for a conducive and enabling business environment in Kenya. Initially, the current programme will have Danida as principal investor, but the fund will be established as a pool through which donors having expressed an interest will be able to participate. The Fund Manager will manage the pooled fund, and will be expected to have or establish operation in Kenya. (i). Subcontracting.

Mindstekrav til niveauet:

(a). One similar contract;

(c). Minimum an EN ISO 9001 certification or similar, or an acceptable operating quality assurance and management system;

(e). Management has considerable relevant technical and management experience;

(g). List of average manpower divided on management staff and other staff. Minimum usually well in excess of those required for the assignment;

(i). the major part of the services must be rendered by the candidate

Kontraktens udførelse

In situations where conflict of interest occurs, candidates will be excluded from participation, e.g. any firm or expert participating in the preparation of a project must be excluded from participation in the tender, unless the involvement does not constitute unfair competition.

The candidate, and in the case of the candidate being a consortium each legal entity, must commit to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact or have a Code of Ethics and a Business Integrity Management System based on another internationally recognised model or system. Verification must be attached to the declaration (clause 8 of the application form for Expression of Interest).
