A feasibility study for an LNG filling station infrastructure and test of recommendations
Working out a strategic decision paper on the establishment of an LNG infrastructure in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and the English Channel based on a feasibility study of central enablers with the aim of making LNG a competitive fuel for shipping in the mentioned sea areas. The decision paper must be relevant for central stakeholders as shipowners, ports, LNG providers, member states and other states and the EU, etc. Simultaneously the recommendations from the strategic decision paper must be validated through tests, including a port point of view.
The starting point is an LNG supply chain seen from reception of LNG and/or liquefaction of natural gas from the gas grid to LNG, via storage and distribution of LNG to the use of LNG in ships for propulsion.
The recommendations shall encompass a physical infrastructure of LNG filling stations as well as a supporting structure of public regulations, classification rules, industry standards, etc.
